Floppy drive on recognized by computer

I just removed a 19 in 1 Media Card (which I don't need at all) unit from a
new Vista computer. I installed a 3.5" floppy drive (from an older Dell XPS
machine) in it's place, using the ribbon cable connection and the power cable
provider within the case. However, when I click on "Computer", the floppy
drive is not recognized. I tried to Update the driver, but Windows Vista
informs me that the correct driver for this floppy is already installed. Do
I need to check or change something else? What else do i need to do?

Open the motherboard BIOS and enable Floppy drive support there.
