Floppy Drive in My Computer

This has never happenned before, but in My Computer it shows the Floppy
Drive icon twice as (A and (B

Check the system BIOS and see if both are enabled there.

Hi Clayton,

If you insert a floppy, can you access it from either one? Did you map
the drive?

Try reinitializing the machine from the bios..

I don't have the option in the BIOS to enable or disable (B yes both
drives can access a floppy disk.
I have restarted the system and only one shows up now and it's not showing
as (A but in fact (B strange

No mapping of drives has been done.

Look for "floppy drive swap" or similar in the BIOS.

Doesn't have many features like most motherboards, it's a Dell Dimension
8300 OEM board/BIOS , had the system for years and it's the first time I
noticed this happening

If you ever make a bootable CD out of a bootable floppy, and boot your
computer with it, it shows up as an extra Floppy Drive, until your next
restart.
