Floppy disks

Bob Hollinger

I am having the problem of reading and writing to floppy
disks and get the error message cited in Article
140060 "Floppy Disk is Not Accessible, Not Formatted, or
Not Recognized by Windows". The resolution states that
the disk should be re-formatted with Windows XP; however,
that does not solve the problem in my case. I am using
Windows XP Home Edition so the workaround cited in the
article is not an option. How do I go about solving this
problem? Thank you for your assistance. Bob Hollinger

This is a well-known problem with XP
For some reason, MS decided to drop their '3-mode drivers' from XP,
producing that result.
Usually there's absolutely nothing wrong with the floppy - try copying it to
a non-xp PC, format the floppy on the same machine, then XP will read it.
