Floppy Disk Help

I have a disk that I haven't backed up in three months -
I know better. Of course, now it will not open. I keep
getting the message, "This disk is not formatted...."
This has only happen to me once before, coworkers many
times, and I have never been able to rescue the files we
need. We know the disks are formatted; we use them at
least twice a week. When I go to properties, it says the
disk is full - again, I know that isn't true. Does
anyone know the cause for this error and how to prevent
it from happening in the future? Furthermore, does
anyone have any brilliant idea how to rescue my file?

I had that happen a while ago and I read the disk on a Sun machine
instead and pulled everything off of it there. I had only ASCII files,
so I just opened them and re-saved them to a zip drive.

Have you tried running the repair utility?
(Properties/Tools/Error-checking)

I try never to use floppies myself but I've saved my kids' homework
quite a few times this way. Good luck.
