Floppy disk drive

I have a problem with my floppy when I turn my com on the floppy light
comes on and stays on all the time
When I get in to windows it won't read or write on to it.
I have changed the floppy drive over from a different com and that
does the same.
I have changed the wire that connects it but that has not done
anything
All help appreciated

If your floppy drive light stays on all the time it usually means that the
cable is connected the wrong way, mostly reversed, try disconnecting the
cable and make sure that pin 1 lines up with pin 1.
