Please don't post in HTML - these groups are plain text only. There is a
very good reason - most servers will strip HTML formatted posts from places
they don't belong, i.e. plain text groups, so you will do yourself out of
assistance.

I do not have anything of value in this disk, but I think the problem maybe
that it is an old disk, not sure how old,but my question remains: Do you
know how to reinstall the floppy drive, without reformatting the hard disk?
Thanks

If you thinnk your problem is with the drive itself, and not the floppy
disc, have you tried deleting the drive from Device Manager, rebooting the
machine, at letting it reinstall the drivers?

I found out I was posting in HTML,my apologies! :-(

I do not have any valuble data in this floppy disk, but the problem is that
the WindowsXP will not format it.
Now,my original question is:

How could I reinstall the floppy drive "A" without reformatting the hard
disk?
Thanks

Does your Windows XP floppy drive read other floppy disks? If so, throw
the bad floppy away and move on. If not, replace the floppy drive
(hardware). You won't be doing any formatting of disks for that.

Malke, thanks for your response, none of my floppies are reading, but I have
not tried a fresh, brand new one,and don't remember if I ever opened one of
those with this computer (1 1/2 years old),I will buy new floppies and see
what happens,I just hope for the best!
Thanks a lot :)
