Just curious as to whether most Vista users know this:
1) There are two slightly different ways to use Flip 3d. One is Windows key
+ tab. This stays open as long as you hold the Windows key down.
The other is Windows key + 2 (ie., the two key). When you let go of the
keys, Flip 3d still says open.
The latter is the ONLY way I knew how to do Flip3d until a few days ago. I
learned about it when using RC1. However, I think most users probably know
about the Windows+tab method of doing it and may not be aware of the
Windows+2 method. (By the way, it has to be the number 2 key in the top row
of your keyboard. It doesn't work with the keypad 2 key, at least not on my
keyboard.)
2) While Flip3d is open, you can move the screens by hitting the tab key.
This works for either method of getting to Flip3d. However, using the scroll
wheel on your mouse also moves you through the screens. At least it does on
my mouse, and I realize that this may be hardware and driver specific. Or it
may depend on how you have your mouse buttons/wheels set up.
3) With the Windows + tab method, when you let up on the keys, it will bring
you to whichever window is at the front of the lineup of windows. But using
either the Windows+tab method or the Windows+2 method, you can select the
window you want by using your mouse pointer and left-clicking now matter
where it is in the lineup of visible windows. In fact, I think that's the
ONLY way to select a window in the Windows +2 method. At least the only one
I've found.
What prompted this thought: I just bought one of those fat expensive
computer books on Vista and noticed that it mentioned Windows key + tab but
does not mention Windows key + 2. I'm sure a lot of readers of this NG
already knew about both methods. But I bet a lot of them didn't.
Hope you find this info useful.
