FLIGHT SIMULATOR 2002 & MOUSE FLICKER problem

hi,

i have a mouse flicker problem in FS2002 that was caused by a computer
crash while defragmenting. The problem doesn't happen in fs98 just
2002. i don't have any other games to try this on.

i uninstalled/reinstalled fs2002 3 times rebooted inbetween and it
still does the same thing, the mouse flickers when i'm playing the
game and moving around the plane virtual cockpit,

but not in the menu of the game (when ALT it stops flickering) or in
the opening screens (create a flight etc).

Then i deactivated directdraw and it fixed the problem, but the game
is slow as hell. i then reactivated it and it still flickering.

i've even changed the fps setting in dixdiag to 75 but nothing happens
with the mouse.

So i went in the display settings on the desktop and moved the
hardware acceleration slider to the left 2 notches and it fixed it but
the rest of the computer is not performing as well as before so thats
not an option.

i have a P4-1800mhz, nvidia 440 vidcard, logitec optical mouse, latest
drivers all around and like i said the mouse flickering is only in
fs2002 and only started after a crash (fat32 not ntfs).

What can i do?

Do i need to reinstall directX , if so how do i do that ?

Just do not use animated mouse pointers and un check the pointer
shadow in the mouse properties, if it doesn't help you need to update
the video drivers, that usually takes care of the problem. If you want
to install the latest DirectX it is available for download at
http://www.microsoft.com.directx
