Flicker

I am having a problem with my mouse and video. I figured I would just install
a new video card. I popped the case and installed the card. I noticed the LED
on the mainboard flickers. When it flickers I lose the mouse. Could this be a
power supply?

We need more details, like:

1) Details on your motherboard model
2) Mouse type (PS/2 or USB)
3) Video card make/model/AGP mode (2x,4x,8x)
4) What LED? Inside or outside?

Any errors in the event logs that might give more info?

PS/2 mouse
MSI 64 MB mx4000 4x nVIDIA GeForce
Asus P4B
The Power LED on the front of the case and the LED on the mainboard inside
the case both flicker. It seems to have gone away. I am wondering if the PS
is going bad?

I let this thing run all afternoon yesterday. It ran great. I started it up
this morning and it is doing the flicker thing again. Seems like after it
warms up it stops. I think maybe I have a power supply issue. Any ideas?

It could be a faulty PSU as you suspect. If so make sure you have all your
data backed up! New PSU aren't that expensive so it might be worth replacing
it anyway.

Check for loose connections between PSU and motherboard. If it is a faulty
PSU I'm a bit surprised that you only loose the mouse. I would expect the
whole PC to crash but electricity is strange stuff.

Sure, swap out the power supply for a new one. If the problems go away,
you know you did the right thing. Power is very important and psu's do
get old and go bad.
