flat file php

I have downloaded cutephp from http://www.yesitsfree.co.uk now this is
an excellent script but you can only put news in order of it being
published. does anybody know of a free script as good that will alow me
to arrange in order of date event and not in order if insertion.

If the file is a text file, you can always reorder it by rewriting it.
