Flashplayer 8 does not "stick"

Recently, I installed Flashplayer 8 after duly uninstalling the earlier
version using the Macromedia Flash Uninstaller.

However, the install does not "stick" even though the install process ends
successfully online and the Flash applet duly animates. Using the standalone
installer also did not work. Shockwave Flash object is enabled in IE add-ons
appropriately.

Every time I visit a website with flash content I need to reinstall
Flashplayer to view content.

Can anyone kindly point me out the direction I need to look to address this
situation?

No, but I do have both Adaware 6 and Spybot installed.

Assuming you have it enabled, see if disabling Spybot TeaTimer before
installing Flash again makes any difference.

Assuming 896688 (MS05-052) is installed, does this behavior predate its
install?
