flash won't work

i am using windows xp home edition service pack 2 that is fully updated. I
have the latest flash installed. But whenever i go to a website, the flash
applet never loads. it just stays white, and sometimes there's a little x in
the corner. this started today. someone help!

check ur internet explorer > tools > internet options > advanced > scroll
thru settings u shd find ur problems source there else just click restore
default.
