flash websites won't open new windows

when i go to a website that uses flash media and click on
a link, a new window should open. i know this because it
works on my office computer. an example site is
www.jkrowling.com. don't laugh, some day you'll have
kids. when i try to hit it, the new window doesn't open.

i'm running xp pro, ie 6.0 sp1. i reloaded flash and
shockwave several times. installed the stand alone
versions of both. turned off the pop up blockers.
enabled the ActiveX controls.

i had sp2 on and couldn't get the new window to open.
uninstalled sp2 and now i'm getting runtime errors
stating that line 33 'null' is null something.

disabled script error notifications and still nothing.

if any of you can help, i would appreciate it. try
explaining to an 8 year old why daddy can't make the
harry potter lady site work.

Thanks Robert.

Thanks for the link. I have tried uninstalling
everything I can think of. I disabled the MS pop up
stopper and added the website to the allow list, but
still nothing. i'll keep looking, though.

thanks again for the help.

I appreciate it.

A common cause of problems with opening new windows
is one of the commonly used third-party toolbar add-ons.
Try uninstalling them?

Can you use this link instead?
