Flash Player conflict

My earlier post on this subject was deleted. I have seen
many posts by people with the same problem, but no
authoritative (or even coherent) response from someone at
Microsoft or Macromedia.

I cannot display Flash content on one of my PCs. The other
one, using the same Internet connection has no problem.
Both run XP Pro. I also have a Mac with the Mac version of
IE and OSX 10.3. Again, no problems there.

I suspect the problem may be due to running Sun's java,
rather than Microsoft's. (This was recommended as a way to
beat browser hijacking that relies on vulnerabilities in
the MS version ... the hijacking issue has been mentioned
here a number of times as well and, regretably, no one
ultility seems to be able to detect -- let alone remove --
them all.)

What we really need here is for someone to determine what
is causing the problem and then post the steps necessary
to remedy it.

Anything new since this post - I am a 4 year MCSE and 3 year CCNA and cannot get this flash issue resolved. I agree with ejr in that..

but no authoritative (or even coherent) response from someone at Microsoft or Macromedia

.... What is going on here? The installs, uninstalls, security, trusted sites, are all lip service now. None of the posted or offered solutions correct this issue or really even address it. Come on MS or Macro - your sites are pathetic with regard to solution support. Please get with it and have someone address this issue
