I have recently reinstalled XP sp2 and cant view youtube, news video etc. It
says i need to install the latest version of flash. I try to do this and get
this "You do not have sufficent disk space to complete this installation.
Please free 5000k and try again". I have 60+gig free space!. I have tried
the stand alone installs from adobe and also uninstalled flash v6 or
something with their stand alone uninstaller, then tried to install flash.
Obewon r u out there?.... any words of wisdom?

Even though the hard drive may have lots of space, applications and
programs which are downloaded need to be extracted. Typically, this
is done in one of the several temp folders that are present. If there
is insufficient space in the temp folder which the programmer wants
to use, then the message shows up. Look at all of the temp folders,
esp. in Drive C, and delete some of the old installation files that
have not been cleared out from earlier installs and updates.

If this doesn't help, contact the Adobe tech support.

Where da f*** did you come up with THAT?

A temp folder has as much space available in it as the disk that the
temp folder is on has space available.

I went thru all the Temp files and folders i found in "search". I still have
the same problem.
I'm working thru Detlev Dreyer's suggestions of "Flash player support FAQ's"
site.
I'm still in the woods v much...and I apprieciate all feedback. Thanx all.
D.

I went to
http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_15511&sliceId=2
as suggested by d-d, flash 9 installed Yea!!!, but still can't view youtube
etc. I had a look in control panel and flash 9 is there but no file size. I
looked in RegCleaner and it's not there.( I am v v careful using regcleaner
except for very basic stuff )
The other day on sys start up "ANIWZCS2 Service" said it had a problem and
had to close...no apparent lost in functionallity. I don't know what it is or
if it has any bearing on flash 9 stuff. I am running Norton security(
firewall, anti virus etc) FYI.

No file size showing up on this machine as well, doesn't mean too much.
Check if the Flash Player has been installed successfully:

Tools like that are not recommended to use.

Not part of WinXP. Scan the system for Malware.

Do not use any Norton/Symantec stuff. If the Flash Player has been
installed correctly, "Norton" and/or "RegCleaner" may cause your
problems.

Not quite true. The Temporary Internet Files folder can be limited in size.
It is rare for it to be filled but it does have a maximum size allocation.
If the OP downloads a lot of content, including on-the-fly installations,
and if the older files and content are not flushed, then the folder does
fill up. For example, I limit my TIF folder to just 115 MB on a 120 GB
hard drive, or 0.1% and not the 10% default.

That folder isn't one to be considered here, doofus. Flash doesn't
install in the TIF folder, nor does it use that folder as a temp.

Make sure you havn't set a maximum limit on your swap/page file.

I've been away folks, couldn't reply...
I've been thinking I'll reinstall the whole system, but before that I'll
look at the swap/page file.
Would you tell me how to do this? I don't know how to or where to look for
this swap/page file setting.
Thanx,

I think the problem is i have installed XP on "H" drive. Maybe flash wants to
install on "C". The page file size on "C" is 0. I can't change this as "C"
has no room.
Where do I go from here , assuming the above is the root of my problem? If I
change the name of "H" to "C" and set normal page file sizes in "C" will
files be able to find themselves?

Thanx folks. Flash installed.
I didn't realise that my XP install onto HDD "H:" and not "C:" was the
problem.
Thanx again,
D3.0
