I have been using a 128MB USB 2.0 Flash Drive with no problems until now. I
have just used it and when I unplugged it crashed my machine it has done it
twice now. I plugged my camera in and unplugged that and the machine was
okay. Don't know what to do or where to look to resolve this problem and
don't know why it has started doing it now when it has been working fine.
When it is plugged in there is a little icon in the task bar with a green
arrow which when you hover over it, it says 'safe to remove device'. Would
going to System Restore (when I find it again) help do you think. I have
tried the device on my desktop and it works perfectly so that isn't the
problem. Just don't know what I've done. I'm beginning to wish I'd never
had the laptop, getting quite fed up now
Thanks for any help you can give.

There are updated USB 2.0 drivers that might cure the matter. Go to
http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb;en-us;822603
and take the 'Download 822603 package now' link about half way down the
page
