Flash crashes Powerpoint 2003 SP3

I used to be able to embed and play shockwave files in Powerpoint but
I am now finding that new embedding or even trying to view older
previously viewable files crashes Powerpoint with no explanation. I am
open to suggestions on how to resolve this or if anyone else is seeing
similar issues.

I have used both Shyam's Toolbox and done it manually with the same
end result being a crash when trying to view the presentation in
slideview.

Oddly when trying to view these files on other machines with the same
set-up does not result in a crash.

Not that I am aware of although our IT people do push upgrades through
unannounced. Is there a known issue with newer versions of the viewer?

Reinstalling Powerpoint did not fix the problem but removing the
flash9.ocx file and reinstalling appears to have fixed it.

Thanks for the feedback Dave. Indeed there appears to be an issue with the
latest version of the player control. I hope to work with it in the next
few days and see what I can see.
