Flakey network with WXP and W2000

I set up a LAN yesterday using a Netgear WGT624 router
with a W2000 and WXP system both hardwired. After setting
NetBios over TCP/IP on in both systems, I could see them
both and access shares on both (the W2000 system asked for
a UID & PW on the WXP system and seemed to want a uid that
wasn't logged on - but it worked fine if I did that.)
Both systems have exactly the same userids defined with
the same passwords.
Today neither system can see the other in network
neighborhood. Sometimes they cannot even see themselves
and report no server. It all depends on which browser I
start first as to whether or not one of the computers will
show itself and its own shares.
I can map drives from one computer to the other by
explicitly typing in the name and share but these browsers
are not working anymore. Any ideas or suggestions
appreciated.

I figured it out. I installed Norton Internet Security on
the WXP machine and only put the X2000 IP in the trusted
zone. I needed to specify a range 198.162.0.1-20 in the
trusted zone in both machines so they could see the router
too.
