Flag Status vs. Follow-Up Flag

I have Outlook 2003 at work, and Outlook 2000 at home. Therefore, at home I
cannot see the colored Flag Status that I have in 2003 (which is fine and
expected).

So, at work, I've been flagging emails (Flag Status, colored flag) and then
also typing in the text for "Flag To:" Follow-Up Flag, so that when I'm at
home I know why I flagged it (not having the flag color in 2000).

I think my home machine is too old and slow to upgrade to Outlook 2003 (P2
233 MHz, Win2K).

Is there any way I can cause the selection of Flag color in Outlook 2003 to
put a certain text into the "Flag To:" field? Currently it always puts the
text "Follow up" in that field when I flag it.

I tried doing it with a Rule, but I don't think that will work, because it's
an action that needs to happen when I flag a message, not when the message
arrives or is sent.

If there is programming involved, I could do that someone could get me
started.

Thanks,
Lincoln

You can not associate a different text with the flag colors. You'll need to
keep typing them in or use rules to add the follow up type.

Thanks for the response Diane.
However:

As I said:
Am I missing something? How could I make a rule that would change the Follow
Up text based on my chosen Flag color, at the time when I flag the email?
(Aside from manually running the rule on All messages every so often)

Like I said, you can't associate text with a flag, so you can't click a flag
and have a different follow up text added. You can use rules and set flags
and follow up words as a message arrives. If you send mail from ol2000 to
ol2003, you can enter a flag text before sending and outlook 2003 can color
it based on the text.

If you are opening the same mailbox with both Outlook 2000 and 2003, you'll
need to either use run rules now or create rules that can automatically tag
new mail with specific flag text and colors. Also be aware that using both
clients on the same message store can cause corruption with rules and
calendar items.
