FIXMBR doesn't fix MBR ??

M

Michel S.

Me again..

In XP-Pro, I load the repair console from the install CD.

I execute the "FIXMBR" command..

It says my MBR is nonstandard or damaged.

I confirm I want to repair it.

It confirms that the new MBR was correctly written.

If I re-execute FIXMBR immediately, it says my MBR is nonstandard or
damaged...

Anybody can explain me what's going on ?

Thanks..

Michel,
You have to run FDISK /MBR from a floppy (or another hard-drive). In
order to fix a bad MBR, you have to have a good one. Running FIXMBR
almost NEVER works!
