Fix this and you're PRO

My keyboard and well ANY keyboard wont work in windows
2000 professional. Keyboards work fine in bios in either
the usb or ps2 ports, but when i get to the logon prompt
it simply stops responding. In usb it appears not to
have power, and in ps2 it seems to but nothing responds,
not even num lock. I think this is caused by something
that is corrupted in my registry. This started when i
was trying to get windows to re-recognize my keyboard and
uninstalled the keyboard from the device manager,
expecting it like the mouse to be re-detected on
startup. I know a good bit about computers and windows
2000 because ive been using it since it hit the shelf. I
have never seen anything like this, the keyboard wont
even work in safe mode. Obviously i cant get the
registry eiditor because i cant login without a keyboard
to type my password. Id be happy to take anyone smart
enough to fix this without formatting to dinner ;)

With the mouse, if that still works, look for the
files, "kbdclass.sys" and "i8042prt.sys" in the
WINNT\system32\DRIVERS directory. If they are not
present, copy them from the i386 directory back to the
aforementioned directory and reboot.

That should do it.

After further review it appears your flame was meant for another, I think. As I didn't tell anyone to search for files. Thus my
flame is inappropraite and I apologize.
