First time RAID attempt

As stated above, I`m a noob at *any* RAID config, and would just like to
know whether or not you actually have to install/re-install the O.S. (WinXP
Home) in order to load the MB RAID drivers , preceeded by the set up of an
initial RAID type configuration in BIOS?

Is there a way to setup a RAID configuration (and the RAID floppy
insertion), without having to go through an actual full installation and
possible "activation" hassle?

I have an Asus A8V Deluxe (socket939) with Athlon64 X2 3700+

You should be able to just install the drivers. Usually I have to do
it anyway to use the controller to install HDs even if I dont set it
up as a RAID config.

When I did it it was easy. You just install the drivers in my case
they were already installed. Then I set it in bios and then it goes
through the format routine. I think that was about it.
