I'd skip WindowsXP! Seriously though, all seems ok but make sure you get a
decent power supply, I've come unstuck recently with them. 400W or more to
be on the safe side.

And I would be a bit wary of the cheap memory, especially on a PC chips
board.

Do NOT buy anything PCChips, or you will be sorry. For a little more money,
I'd suggest the MSI 745 (it will support a XP 2400+) or ECS K7S5A (which
your vendor has listed at two different prices). Both are older boards, but
better quality than anything PCChips would ever produce. Also, don't go for
generic RAM. Instead, go for Corsair or Kingston. On ebuyer, the corsair
is the same price as their own generic brand. You don't actually need
PC3200 either (just PC2100), but it looks like PC3200 is all that ebuyer
carries. You will love windows xp. Did you forget a video card, or are you
going to recycle that? -Dave

PCChips manufactures ECS boards, so I'm not so sure about your statement
there...

I'd get a better monitor, capable of at least 1.24 X 768 @ 100Hz, otherwise
too much flicker/eyestrain.

I'll be darned, you're right on that. I've read that PCChips bought ECS.
I've also read that ECS was better quality than PCChips before they were
bought out. -Dave (can no longer recommend ecs)

The K7S5A was one of the few reliable ECS boards, probably due to the
single-chip nature of the board. (harder to screw up)

BigM:

The Ga-7VT600 is a very cheap, very solid board. Maybe scratch the
ecs/pcchips mobo product.

Ditch the Samsung drive. I've had nothing but trouble with Samsung
optical drives.
