The first Australian "spammer" has been prosecuted under new Aussie Spam Act laws. Since April of last year, the spammer is alleged to have sent 56 Million e-mails (enough for one for each person in the UK!).
The Australian Communications Authority has more information in a release on its website.
Hopefully this will at least slow down the increasing amount of spam being sent out, and deter others.
