Hi,
Does anyone know how to get rid of that annoying pop up warning 'Your
computer may be at risk' when I switch my firewall off in windows xp.

I think if you have to ask that question, the right answer is "Don't."

Go to Programs => Accessories => System Tools => "Security Center"
When you click on this, a window appears.

On the Left-Hand side under "Resources", you will see an option that
says, "Change the Way Security Center Alerts Me"

This brings up Window with 3 checkbox options. Unclick the top one
"Firewall"

Then go to the Right-Hand side, "Firewall" and click "Recommendations".
On the window that pops up "Recommendation", be sure you have the "I
have a firewall....." option checked and click "OK"
