Kerio and Sygate both have both served me well on 2 different boxes. We
use the Pro version of Sygate at my job ($Major_IT_Company), which
should tell you something about OTHER commercial packages.

Of course not ;).

Seriously, the IT guys did a lot of research on firewalls (at both
companies I worked for) and Sygate won hands down (price, configuration,
security, ease of use, lower bloat) plus the pro version has options to
allow for remote centralized settings.

Same here. In tandem Kerio 2.1.5 and the XP firewall seem to be very
effective. They are also very well behaved and use minimal resources.

It is NOT a good idea to run 2 firewalls, you don't know what's stopping what!!

Generally this is true. These two do work very well together though
derek.

Kerio 2.1.5 has a fragmented packet weakness, but the XP firewall
denies all unsolicited packets. Kerio is plenty good at monitoring
outbound traffic and returning inbound traffic.

What can I say? It works very well.
