I don't know where else to ask this question so I decided
to ask it here. I already contacted symtatec and they
told me to search in the "Knowledge Base" but I did and I
didn't find how I can fix my problem. I got this response
5 days after I asked. I need a response faster.

I want to renew my norton personel firewall 2003
subsciption. It worked with my norton AntiVirus 2003
subscription. But for some reason it it doesn't work for
my firewall. This message appears all the time:

"We take additional steps to ensure your security. Your
order cannot be processed for one of the following
reasons:
The City, State and Postal Code (Zip) you entered do not
match
The address you entered does not match the billing
address of your credit card.
Please verify your information and resubmit your order.
Thank you."

I don't understand why it says that because I entered the
correct info that matches the credit card. Can someone
tell me why I can't renew my subscription?

Dominic this is a Symantec problem not an XP one. If you are having problems
re-newing your firewall subscription it is up to Symantec to sort it out.

Alternatively download the *free* version of Zone Alarm from
www.zonelabs.com and don't bother remewing your subscription to Nortons
Firewall. Why pay for something you can get for free.

Just one last note. I hope you will at least give the free version of Zone
Alarm a try. However, you cannot run Zone Alarm and Norton's Firewall
together. You will need to uninstall Norton's *before* installing Zone
Alarm.

You should absolutely use ZoneAlarm instead of paying for Norton --
especially since they'e making it so hard for you to give them your money!!
ZoneAlarm is available free at:
http://www.zonelabs.com/store/content/company/products/znalm/freeDownload.jsp

First of all you should change to ZoneAlarm...pay once thats it
There is even a free version to try out first..I tried my free version out for 4
years before I paid.
Credit Card info can be picky...I've been in that position
a change in Capital letters can trigger refusal.I now take my latest bill and
type in the info exactly as they wrote it when they mailed me the bill.

You are not calling Symantec because.....?

I know the poster mentioned: City, State and Postal Code (Zip) but I have
had this happen when our area phone code changed and received the error
above even though it didn't relate to either of those three.

Does the free version of zonealarm have ad blocking and
all the features norton personel firewall 2003 has?

How does it keep up to date? Does it have something
like "liveupdate" except it's free?

my free version out for 4

mailed me the bill.

and I

ZoneAlarm will block incoming traffic and allows you to choose which
programs you want to allow to phone home. Why not just give it a try.
ZoneAlarm numbers among it's fans lots of users who really care about
their security. You won't be disappointed -- and you can spend the
money on something else!

The free version does not block ads and such. There is a
link in the ZA control panel to check for updates manually
or you can set it to automatically check. I've been using
the free version for years and am very pleased with it. I
have some other popup and ad blocking software, otherwise I
would probably update to the Pro version.

One more question then I'm done.

When I use liveupdate for norton Antivirus. At the end
when everything is dowloaded and installed it says:

"All of the Symantec products installed on your computer
are currently up-to-date."

My firewall is from Symantec right? I'm confused with
the "ALL". I didn't renew my firewall subscrition. Why
does it say "ALL"?

I don't see "Renewal" on the right hand side or even the
left when I click on your link.

subscription support is that what you meant?
