Firewall reset help

I am running XP2 and a home wireless network. Why does the firewall settings
keep on restting back to off when I turn down the computer?

Are you referring to the Windows Firewall? Do you have a) a third-party
firewall; or b) the beta MS AntiSpyware app installed?

If a), then leave the Windows Firewall disabled and use the third-party
firewall. If b), try doing:

Start>Run cmd [enter]
netsh winsock reset catalog [enter]
Follow prompts and reboot.

thanks for your prompt answer. I am referring to the Microsoft Windows
firewall. I am also running Zone Alarm and the microsoft Beta Spyware
software...> Thanks for your future help...
