Firewall prevents access across network

PC A & PC B are networked. A is linked to the net. B uses A's connection for the internet. Both PCs have XP firewall enabled.

Over the network, A can't see B's files but B can see A's. I get the message that access is denied or similar. When I disable the firewall on PC B, A can then see B's files!

Do I need the Firewall enabled on B? PC A is the one connected directly and this has the firewall enabled.

Many thanks.

The firewall should only be enabled on PC A's Internet connection. Disable
the Firewall on both PC LAN connections.
