Firewall intrusions

I recently installed ZoneAlarm's firewall on the recommendation of a member. Since doing so I am being bombarded by unknown servers attempting to log-on to my pc. So far, ZoneAlarm has prevented all intrusions.

I am truly concerned. In just the past hour I have been on the internet 20+ intrusion attempts have been blocked.

Am I being targeted for some reason? Is this normal activity when on the internet? Previous to ZoneAlarm I used Microsoft's firewall which blocked all intrusion attempts (I think) but did not notify me. ZoneAlarm does. Have any other members experienced this?

Anyone have any thoughts on this matter?

Concerned!

There should be a setting in ZA to block these attempts permanently. I use
the Sygate Personal Firewall and there's a check mark on the alert box that
allows me to block it each time it happens - that way I'm not bothered by the
alert, but am protected from the intrustion.

Windows Firewall was made for home users so it works almost automatically
It informs the user rarely
It doesn't inform the user if you had checked Don't allow exceptions so that
you will have maximun protection but will not be notified at all.
The word above are for XP SP2

The ICF that is in WIN XP SP 1 doesn't infom anybody at all.

The other versions doesn't have firewalls.

Depending on the country you live in...the hacking is a crime. If somebody
tries to enter your PC,it is a crime ,too.So you may contact the authorities.
