Awaiting delivery of a new laptop with WinXP (home) installed. Never used
this OS before and want to install a firewall/anti-virus. Have Norton AV in
a box at home but not keen to use their firewall as it 'allegedly' eats up
memory with a vengence! Anyone recommend an alternative firewall. I've used
Zone Alarm in the past with little problem, apart from when I switched it
off, but would just like to get a feel for what others use.

Thanks in advance,

Harry

I have used Symantec and zone alarm in the past now I use Sygate's personal
firewall and I like it.

your best answer will be an independent lab that reviewed, tested, and
compared various firewall, anti-virus, and anti-spyware products. here is
the best article I've seen lately from an independent lab.

it's better than the software equivalent of going to a Cadillac dealership,
and asking what's the best car made in the world.
