Firewall blocking some web browser functions

C

Cliff Lewis

I have noticed that some web sites do not work right since I installed
the latest upgrade to my firewall (Computer Associates ezTrust
Personal Firewall). In particular, looping animated weather maps on
intellicast.com do not function. Both Netscape and Internet Explorer
have the same problems.

If I disable the firewall, then the animation works.

I have set program controls in the firewall either to allow Internet
access or to request access for all programs. When I load the
Intellicast page, Generic Host Process (svchost.exe) requests access.
That is the only one. But even if I set the firewall to allow it
access, the animation does not work.

Any tips on troubleshooting this?

Thanks,
Cliff Lewis

I don't think that is the problem. MTU has not changed, the setting is
correct at 1492 for PPPoE, and the system passes tests for correct MTU
setting.
