Firewall blocked with Anti-spyware software

Every since I installed MS antispyware, I am not able to
turn on Windows Firewall. I get the following message

"Windows firewall settings cannot be displayed because the
associated service is not running. Do you cwant to start
the Windows firewall/ICS service?

After clicking yes, I get he following

Windows cannot start the windows firewall/ICS service

Am I protected with the antispyware software only? Help
