FIREWALL BLOCK On/Off

I have notices that some 3rd party firewall software has an option to simply
block all network/internet traffic. Like a light switch to allow or stop it.

If XP pro has this option I can't find it. Does it exist and if so where?

Thanks!

No, XP does not have this option. And if you read a little deeper you
will see that the 'no internet' option is intended as an emergency
action if your computer is being attacked. It is not, as you describe
it, like a light switch to be turned on and off.

Ted,
Bitdefender and The Shield software both seem to imply that traffic is
blocked. At least I can't get in or out when I block it with a mouse click
from their menu.
My problem is I would simply rather run the PC without The Shield firewall
program as it appears to be somewhat unstable - at least in my system.

PS: The email sent to me for me to respond to you also came up with "page
unavailable".

You could create a shortcut to your Local Area Connection. Click on that
and there is a button to disable your internet connection. To create the
shortcut, right click My Network Places>click Properties>right click Local
Area Connection and choose "Create Shortcut. Place it on your desktop (or
anywhere else).

Thanks, I will try the disable method.
