Firefox: setting default e-mail client

Mike

I've tried to configure Firefox so that Pegasus Mail opens when I click on
an e-mail hyperlink, rather than Lookout Express. I can't find the place to
do that. Can anyone help, please? TIA.

Open Pegasus & look in Options or something similar & make default .

That isn't where the problem lies. I need to change something *in Firefox*
so that a clicked "mailto:" hyperlink opens Pegasus, not Lookout.

Aha -- perversely, the solution lies in the IE settings. I have selected
Pegasus as my default e-mail client in IE's Internet Tools | Programs, and
now Firefox obediently follows.

It's all the same thing, just different approaches. The more
interesting question would be how to spec a non-default client in FF.

The preference network.protocol-handler.app.mailto should do it. Its
type should be string and its value should be the full path to the mail
app.
