Firefox and Thunderbird stopped having internet access

Hello,

I am using windows xp64 build 3790.
I installed firefox and thunderbird today and they worked fine, after
two reboots they suddenly can't connect to the internet (or Intranet)
anymore.

IE works fine and I also can ping the internet.

I checked the firewall both firefox and thunderbird have access, I
even disabled the firewall to be sure. Does any1 knows what it could
be?
 
have you tried the support for FireFox? If you IE is
working fine, then use it!
