Fine and Replace fails

Sometimes, working in a long document, I go to Control-F to search/replace a
word and the box comes up saying Word has not found the item, but the word
is right there on the screen! I have tried this from the Edit menu with the
same result. If I close down Word and reboot, it works again, but fails
again.
I would appreciate any help.

Given that you haven't quoted any examples, check the 'More' button in the
Replace dialog and see what options are checked.
