Hello,

Thank you for reading.
I've just started university and the internet in my room
is part of the uni network. connected via ethernet.

It is heavily filtered to block adult content, but it
also will not allow online gaming. Whenever I try to
launch the little program that lobbies together gamers,
it just simply won't connect. I'm sure there must be a
way around this. Its nothing malicious, I juts like
playing games online.

Any ideas as to a solution would be truly appreciated,
can contact me at (e-mail address removed) too.

cheers, Lee

No offense, but even if we could give you a simple answer to this (which is
unlikely), note that a lot of people who reply in here are network admins,
and as such would be very unlikely to tell you how you can bypass security
set up by *your* network admins. Kind of like asking a cop, where's the best
place to buy dope....unwise! If you've tried asking the admins at your
school and have gotten no help, I'd give up on the idea.

Note - posting your valid e-mail address in a newsgroup post, or in your
news account settings, is a surefire way to get spam and SWEN and other
viruses sent to you....see http://www.mailmsg.com/SPAM_munging.htm for help.
