Finding MAC address of a Remote computer

Hi -

Generally this is not possible without some pretty
sophisticated equipment but there are a couple of
exceptions -

If you have NetBIOS available to the remote machine you
can use 'nbtstat -A xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx' to get the machine's
IP address but this probably won't do you a whole heck of
good except on a local network.

If the remote machine has an SNMP service running you can
get the information from that interface, but for the most
part you have to be on the same subnet as a machine to
get its MAC address.

Hope this helps -

If I have IP address of a remote computer how I would
find MAC address of the computer?

if the remote machine is connected to a router and you
have admin rights/remote management of the router, you
may be able to look it up in the routers ARP cache.
