Outlook 2003 SP2, Exchange Server 2003 and standalone

From the Help I understand that if I select to look for "Files
(Outlook/Exchange)" in Outlook's Advanced Find, I can find attachments. I
cannot get this option to work.

Even if I ask for all attachments it gives no results, not to mention file
name, text in file, other fields etc. All come up empty. Of course the
attachments are there.

Can anyone help? I don't even know if I'm doing something wrong (I select
location, I select types of files; when this doesn't work I add part of name
with wildcards; and have tried putting text that's in the file in the "search
for words" field) or if some setting needs to be enabled for this to work.

The ability to search for attachments - and if possible for strings of text
within attachments - is crucial to us.

Thanks,
Ofra

if you need to search attachments, try lookout or other search utility.
Advanced find can't do that.

What is the "Files (Outlook/Exchange)" for? Does it look for something else,
or is it only a theoretical option that doesn't do the job?

Thanks,
Ofra

you can store other office files in folders in Outlook and Exchange public
folder -not as attachments but as files (drop them in drafts first, then
move to a folder if they open as messages with attachments when you drop).
You can store templates in folders as templates. These are the files
advanced find looks for.
