Does Windows mail (as the successor to OE - and OE does not) even HAVE an
"archiving" function? If not, how and when did you do this "archiving"?

No such thing as archived mail in Windows Mail (formerly Outlook Express.)
You must use Office's Outlook for archiving. If you have Outlook, use File,
Open Outlook Data File to access your archive file.

strange...apparently we were asked if we would like to 'hide' read e-mails.
They have disappeared and are not in the deleted file with many others..?!

Hiding is not the same as archiving - I expect there's an "unhide" option
somewhere...probably something like View-all emails.....

I have unhidden all files and still can't find the lost asu mails. I suppose
I will just have to write them off then. Thanks for your help

In general, this newsgroup can't help you with ANY aspect of Windows Mail,
since it discusses Office Outlook, not Windows Mail. See the newsgroup
microsoft.public.windows.vista.mail
