finding administrators password

I have to reinstall Win XP on my computer to enable the
computer to recognize CDr, DVD, and Zip drives that are
attached through a add-on PCI ATA controller card. When
trying to use the setup process, when I get to enter the
administrators password, I do not remember what the
password I entered as administrator. Is ther a way to
find what the password is? Can I reinstall the Win XP
operating system and enter a new administrator password?
Any help or insignt to this problem would be appreciated.

If you have a working admin account just use it to set
the password on the other to something that you know.

Also, why do you believe that you need to reinstall
XP in order to get it to recognize and use some new
hardware ??
