not sure where to ask this;
running winXP. Recently installed Office 07. Desktop search is disabled
since I see little value in it. But, when I hit the windows/F key to bring
up Find, Desktop search comes up and I then switch to the old search
companion which I like to use.
Is there a way to get the search companion directly?

If you do not use the desktop search, you should un-install it from
Control Panel --> Add/Remove Program instead of "disabling" it.

Well, that's so obvious I am embarrassed that I didn't think about it. I
un-installed the thing! thanks
