Find what previous Operating system was?

To be able to uninstall an old version of Norton antivirus to install as new
one I need to run their uninstall utility by using the compatibility mode.
This is an old computer (but new to me) running on XP. How do I find out
what the previous operating system was to be able to run the utility in
compatibility mode??

Exactly what version of Norton Antivirus needs to be unistalled?
What version of Norton Antivirus are you plan on installing?
Only Norton Antivirus 2002 or newer is compatible with Windows XP.

I'm trying to install Norton Internet Security. I tried to uninstall
Antivirus 2000 from Add/Remove Programs which failed. The Rnav2003 utility
you listed is the one I am following, but I need to know what the previous
operating system was before XP. Do you know how I can find that?
