How can I find the names and IP's of my LAN computers, or,
how can I find details about a computer with a certain IP ?

(NO 3rd party software!)

Well you can find the names of computers on your domain or workgroup with My
Network Places or Network Neighborhood, then ping each name with "ping
[computer name] -a" and note the ip address.
It's much easier with third party software, many free programs available.

What are the other "details" you want to find out?

To find your IP address do as the first poster said. Click the Start button
then "Run", in the box that pops up type in CMD and hit enter, this will
bring a black screen up. In the black screen type in "ipconfig /all"
(without quotes) to bring up your network adapter's info. If you just need
the IP address then just type in "ipconfig" and hit enter.
