I recently upgrade to Office XP(Access 2002) from Office
2000 (Access 2000). In Access 2000 I used the "Find and
Replace" function from the pull down "Edit" menu quite
extensively. While viewing the current record through a
form, I would open Find and Replace, copy data from the
Clipboard into the "Find What" field and click "Next"
which would bring up the record for which I was looking
in the open form. Really a simple, quick and easy
process. However, in Access 2002, I am unable to copy
from the Clipboard into the "Find What" field. This is an
absolutely essential function that I need.
That explains what I am doing. My questions are:
Is there a patch/upgrade for Access 2002 that gives me
the ability to paste from the clipboard into the "Find
What" field in the Find and Replace window? Or, can
someone give me detailed info on how to create a query
that will accomplish the same thing, keeping in mind, I
must be able to paste into the query field.
Please email if response is too detailed for this message
board. Email = (e-mail address removed)

thanks

miker,

i just tried this on an Access 2002 MDB, and it worked normally for me.
Assuming you selected the various parameters properly, i will guess that
you've got something else going on. at least we know the feature wasn't
disabled in 2002. Aas another test, you might try using filters.

I am using Access 2003 and I have the same problem as you. I am able to copy but unable to paste it in Find What. This morning I called MS Help phone online. I had to pay $10 for this call. The tech told me that Access 2003 does not have that option (can't paste in Find What). I don't think this tech is right. They cannot disable this useful feature. When you have the answer, please let me know My emai: (e-mail address removed)
