filter not being removed

I have a form where a filter always turns on when you enter the screen. I
have removed the filter in the properties tab and it still always gets
initiated. I looked into the code I do not see it beeing set in VB. You
must always go to remove filter each time you enter the screen to stop the
filter. Any ideas of why this might be happening. I do not want to disable
the filter button, in this case it stays in the filter mode and I can never
turn it off, plus I want to be able to filter if necessary. We are on
access xp.
