Filter is slow

With only 3,000 rows in my Excel file, I find that when I now filter a column
by a number value (greater than a specficied number), what was once an
instantaneous filter now takes about 10 seconds to show the filtered records.

Any ideas why such a simple filter on such a small number of records should
now take 10 seconds?

Excel version?
How big is your Excel file?
Are you running other programs at the same time?
Are you by any chance filtering the entire column rather than just the
rows mentioned?

Could be all sorts of reasons. 3,000 records isn't that small and 10
seconds isn't that long. <g>
