Files take forever to open/close on network

Hi,

We have 1 computer on our network of about 15, that takes forever to open
and close files (any type) that are stored on the server.

We have a Windows Server 2003 server, and all the clients are Windows XP
SP1.

Also, all of our computers take forever to logon to the domain, but I've
heard this will be fixed in SP2???

Any ideas guys?

Do you have a DNS server running on your domain, and if so, do all computers
(including the DNS server itself) point to that computer for name
resolution?
