Files recovery

I installed XP over my 98 version and I'm quite sure many
files I needed were wiped out. As a "dummy specialist", I
did not back up anything.
Does anyone know if I can recover my files with any those
recovery softwares ou any other method ?

Hello!
There are lots of third party tools/software which can
recover the lost files.You can search them from google.It
is better you select your own.

I've had good experiences with "PC Inspector File Recovery" from Convar.
It's free, and you can download it from
http://www.webattack.com/get/pcinspector.shtml and also from the homepage
at http://www.pcinspector.de/. They also have some other nice utilities in
the "PC Inspector" - series.
